Explosion proof Serial Data Link, ESDL, is a data bus based on hard- and software which has unique features necessary for attaining the highest possible data safety. As VC is installed in an environment with a high risk of explosion, special demands are made on the hardware:

• The bus is adapted for running in explosive environment. If a data crash occurs it cannot generate a current peak
• Extremely little power is needed to run the components and bus
• The bus is galvanically separated from the earth in the chassis to avoid high current or static electricity discharges from affecting the data and power traffic.
